Sometimes It All Comes Down to Being Brave
We've been talking all month about healing wounds that can come with community, but I think there's also a virtue that we need to dedicate some space to: courage.
A lot of time people think of something like patience or trust as the core virtue we need to step into community, but I think for a lot of us, especially those of us with wounds (that is, ahem, all of us) courage is actually the core virtue we need to step out again in community.
And you know what? I think you are way braver than you think you are.
Maybe it feels like bravery is not your personality. Maybe you think of yourself as a reserved person. Maybe it scares you to be the one to make the first step, the first hello, the first invitation.
But you are totally brave enough to do it. I know you are.
You can let the Holy Spirit fill you with the bravery to do whatever you need to - to take whatever opportunity He puts in your path.
And that's what inspired this month's signature charm - the front says "I bravely step out" and the back says "Fear does not make my choices."
I encourage you to tell yourself that God makes you brave everyday for 30 days and see what happens.
Repeating the truth changes you. Try it and see.
