Love is the hallmark of Christianity. As Christian women, God wants to spread the fragrance of his love through us. While it is easy to love people who are our friends or our loved ones, it is a bit more difficult to love those who are our enemies. Even then, the Bible commands us to always love our enemies and do good to those that hate us. Honestly speaking, this is not easy but it is possible with God’s help. 

To love our enemies, we must have an understanding of how deep God’s love is for humanity and how precious one soul is to God. The Bible presents us with a picture of the depth of God’s love. It shows us how Christ came to die for us while we were all still sinners and enemies of God. If Jesus could die for us while we were still sinners, should we not also love our enemies even though they do evil against us?

CONCLUSION

When we love our enemies, we show the life of Christ and they can also be convicted of their sins and repent of their wicked ways. We should never repay evil with evil, rather we must overcome evil with good. Vengeance belongs to God alone, and he will recompense every one according to the works of our hands.

It is God’s duty to make sure that the righteous are kept secure and that the wish of their enemies does not come to pass over them. We cannot avenge or vindicate ourselves the way God will. We just have to show love to everyone around us and trust God to deal with our enemies, whichever way pleases him. This proves that we trust in God fully.
